Happy Valentine’s and Happy Miles Earning from Points of the Matter!
American Airlines announced yesterday a special offer from FTD for AAdvantage frequent flyer members which allows them to earn 30 AAdvantage miles for every dollar spent on Valentine’s Day flowers, toys and candies.
We value American miles at around two cents a piece, so that’s like getting 60 percent off your flowers. And don’t worry, we won’t tell your special someone that you got all those miles. It’ll be our little secret.
Citi® / AAdvantage® cardmembers also earn an additional 100 AAdvantage bonus miles from FTD with each transaction.
The offer is valid through Feb. 15, 2014, in case you’re one of those that likes to run a bit late.
If you’re not already an AAdvantage member, you can sign up here.
I received a letter from a reader who wants to know his options for “breaking up” with United Airlines — including whether it’s possible to transfer United miles out of United MileagePlus and into another rewards program — after what sounds like a truly horrible experience with the airline over the holidays. Here’s the full letter: Continue reading Can I Transfer United Miles To A Different Rewards Program?
I’m a huge fan of huge credit card sign-up bonuses. Keep your 30,000 mile bonuses offered in airport hallways and Facebook ads. I want 50,000. That’s why I was thrilled to open the mailbox today and find the thick, non-descript envelope containing my shiny new Citi Platinum Select AAdvantage World MasterCard, which comes with a 50,000 AAdvantage miles bonus after $3,000 in purchases within the first 3 months.
There are tons of offers floating around out there for Citi AAdvantage cards, some Visa, some MasterCard. But as far as I know only the MasterCard version is offers the 50,000 mile bonus.
